  5.   If this file does not exist, IconUpDater will create it.
  6.   This file MUST be in the same directory as ICONUPD.EXE!  This LOG will
  7.   keep track of who has download the FORCED FILE  When someone downloads 
  8.   the FORCED File, the user's name is added to this DAT file.  A user will 
  9.   not be forced to download your forced file if his name is in the DAT file.
  10.   This means you have total control over who (and when) you want to make 
  11.   download your FORCED file.  If the DAT file has more than 999 users in it, 
  12.   IconUpDater will create a second DAT file called "FORCEA2.DAT."  When this 
  13.   file grows to contain more than 999 users then IconUpDater will create a 
  14.   3rd DAT file called "FORCEA3.DAT", then if that one has more than 999 user, 
  15.   IconUpDater will create a 4th DAT file called "FORCEA4.DAT".  This give
  16.   you approx. 4000 user that you cam force a file on.  If it grows to more
  17.   than that IconUpDater will fault out, and quit.

  19.      The same goes for the FORCEB1.DAT & FORCEC1.DAT files.

  26.     For example, lets say you FORCE your users to download your BBS
  27.     registeration text file.  Once they have downloaded it they will
  28.     never be forced to download it again until you delete that user's 
  29.     name from the LOG (DAT file) or til you delete the LOG all together!

  31.     Let's say you have a log that's been running for a while, and you
  32.     update you BBS registeration text file and you want everyone to
  33.     download the new one. Well just delete the FORCExx.DAT file(s) and
  34.     everyone will be forced again.  To not FORCE a file on a particular
  35.     user, just put his/her name in the LOG exactly how it is spelled in
  36.     the WildCat database.

  38.     To totally turn off the FORCED feature just put "N" in ICSETUP
  39.     where it asks if you want to force the file.

  59.   MORE INFO on FORCED LOGS:

  61.        Says for example that you just started using IconUpdater and 
  62.   would like to force your BBS Membership file on all your users EXCEPT
  63.   those you are already members.  If you have WCPRO utilities then doing
  64.   so will be easy.

  66.       Remember that IconUpDater will not Force a File on a user if his
  67.   name is in that Force file Log.  So say that you have IconupDater set
  68.   up with the 1st definable menu option as RIPterm; then you most likely
  69.   do not want to force RIPterm on your users<g>.  But you have your Member-
  70.   ship DOCs set as IconUpDater's definable menu option #2 (FORCEB1.DAT).

  72.     Run WCpro select USERS then do a MATCH on all users who are MEMBERS.
  73.   Then create a LIST; choose list by USER NAME only; then set output as
  74.   "COMMA DELIMITED"; and last name the file (FORCEB1.dat) and F10.

  76.   I would look at this new file you just create with a text editor to
  77.   insure that it is a list of your MEMBERS, and does not exceed 999 lines!
  78.   If it does you will need to cut and paste the remaining users to another
  79.   file call FORCEB2.DAT.  For example: if you scan in 1500 users then
  80.   you will need to cut and past 501 of those users to a new FORCEB2.DAT 
  81.   file and save it in your IconUpDater directory.

  84.   Now run the program that came with IconUpDater called "CONVERT.EXE".
  85.   This program will convert the file you just created in WCpro to a
  86.   format that IconUpdater can read.

  88.         It will ask you to enter the filename of the file you just
  89.         created in WCpro.  Then it will ask you to enter the name of
  90.         the output file.  It will default to ForcedB.log if you hit
  91.         return. REMEMBER that Forced.log is for the first menu option,
  92.         and ForcedB.log is for the second menu option!!!

  94.   Now IconUpDater will check this file before running; and will not 
  95.   Force the File under menu option #2 to any user list in ForceBx.DAT,
  96.   where x is 1,2,3 or 4; or it will not Force a file under menu option 
  97.   #1 if the user's name is in the ForceAx.DAT.
